Piervittorio Prevedello

He graduated in architecture at the Venice University Institute of Architecture in 1987. In 1984 he began a long and intense cooperation lasting over 10 years with the architects Afra and Tobia Scarpa and Fabio Lombardo. During this key period of professional experience, he worked on both industrial design projects (initial concept for product strategies, project development, communication and fittings for trade-fairs) for the most important companies in the sector – Unifor, B&B, Maxalto, Molteni, Flos and IB Office – and on industrial architecture projects (Benetton group production centre in Castrette di Villorba) and private houses. He attended a Master in design at the Domus Academy, following courses held by Antonio Citterio, Ron Arad, Isao Hosoe, Denis Santachiara, Constantin Gricic, Maiko Hasuike and Stefano Giovannoni. In 1997 he developed his professional activity in the areas of industrial design and architecture. In 1998, in the role of design consultant for Bonaldo, he initiated a project aimed at the industrialisation of household furniture: sofas, beds and furnishing accessories, both as designer (sofa models Pierrot, Demì, Tolomeo, Boston and others) and in charge of development of projects by other designers (Ron Arad, Karim Rashid, D’Urbino Lomazzi, Toshiyuki Kita, Mauro Lipparini and Dennis Santachiara). For several years now, with Luca De Carli, he has been involved in product technical development, developing know-how for companies. In 2004, under the pseudonym Glenn Thomas, he won the Chicago Athenaeum “Good Design Award” for the Pierrot sofa.
